A birth of a child is a wonderful experience and monumental time in every womans life! A woman never forgets her birth experience. A birth Doula can protect and help make a womans birth experience a loving memory forever! I am a DONA certified Birth Doula, certified midwife assistant, Certified Lactation specialist and all around birth advocate. I have lived in Sonoma County since 1965. I have been married to my soul mate for over 30 years. We have two wonderful children and five beautiful grand children. I was blessed to be able to attend all of my grand childrens births. In the book Celebration of Birth there is a quote: "Birth is the climax of a long period of transition which we call pregnancy, when a woman becomes a mother, a man becomes a father and a fetus becomes a child. In just a few hours the mysterious life within becomes a real, breathing, crying baby- a son or daughter, a sister or brother. How we welcome our children into the world reflects our highest hopes and dreams for them." The birth process is just the beginning of those hopes and dreams. I believe that no matter where a birth takes place, it needs to be nutured and protected. I believe that every woman should have the birth they desire; after all birth is an amazing process.I also believe that every birth is unique and that pregnancy, birth and motherhood are all miracles and each should be honored! It is a great privilege and a honor to be present during a birth. I can not think of anything more precious.I hope that I get the honor to attend yours!
