| My passion for this line of work started at the first deliveries I attended as a "Labor Coach" back in the late 80's and 90's. I was fortunate enough to be present for the labor and deliveries of my two nephews and four godchildren.After taking a break to enjoy raising my kids and watching my god babies grow I have decided to become a doula so that I may be there to help with this next generation. I am excited about being a doula for my children, nieces and nephews and their friends.As a doula, I have enjoyed working with both single moms & couples. I meet with the mother or couple to offer assistance with learning their best birth options that fits their needs & desires. I'm available to give reassurance & support as needed during the pregnancy. I offer to come to her home in early labor if she desires or I meet her at the hospital. I'm there throughout labor, offering comfort measures-- encouragement, massage, relaxation techniques, and suggestions along the way to aid in helping her to stay comfortable. My focus during the birthing process is to be there in support of the mother during the labor and delivery. My commitment is to provide continual support at her side, and help her understand the changing situations that she will be experiencing. I help by clarifying the options that the mother has so that she may have the delivery of her choice. I also provide support for the Dads that want to be present and active as fathers to their new babies from the very beginning.I have received many thanks from other mothers that are present at the time that their loved one. gives birth, thanking me for helping them share in this experience As a doula my goal is to help you find your own birth path. Each path is different. Some are up hill, some are bumpy, some are short and smooth, and some come with unexpected detours. You never know which path you get until you're already on the journey. I help you find your way. It's a joy to be a part of each woman's journey through birth I am very proud and excited to be part of this next "Generation". It is my honor to attend women at their births and to support them afterwards. There is nothing quite like the birth of a new baby and the changes it brings to a woman and her family.
